Introduction

Once upon the time, there was a nightingale who was the master maker of music boxes. The music boxes he made treasures that everybody dreamed of. However, the green turtle Le-le was the only one who could truly understand the profound meaning underneath the rhythm. Le-le traveled to the Melody Forest from a far away ocean just to ask the Nightingale to make a music box with a maternal feeling because she never got a change to know her mother.

The Nightingale promised her that he will make her the music box with a maternal melody in five years. Le-le returned to the Melody Forest after five years to get the music box she ordered. Unfortunately, the melody from the music box didn’t remind Le-le of her mother. However, Le-le was fine with it because she was already a mother herself and she had laid more then a hundred eggs on the beach near the forest.

The Nightingale promised her that he will create another music box in five years. It will be called “Happiness” and it will satisfy her wish. Moreover, he will make a music box for her babies as their birthday present.

Days go by, while swimming in the ocean, Le-le met a group of delightful baby green turtles. Somehow even they never met their mother but they knew their mother loves them dearly. Le-le realized right away that they must be her babies and that Nightingale has kept his promise finished the music box.

Full of excitement, Le-le went back to the Melody Forest. Surprisingly, she encountered the news of Nightingale’s death. However, she received the music box that she has dreamed of—a music box with a simple lullaby which totally satisfied her desire of love from her mother.

From professionals to children, homemakers to students, our supporters are representative of the whole of our society. And though the make up of this supporting group changes from time to time, Shiny Shoes continues to tread the hills and valleys, cities and townships of Taiwan, leaving behind its tiny footprints in the hearts and minds of our children as the excitement and fun of theater.
