Introduction

When three actors were just about to introduce the play for today, they found the stage property box was missing and misplaced by their members with a trash can! There were only some pots, bowls or other trashy stuffs found in that trash can, so they had to be quick-witted and use those resources to improvise a different version of "twelve animals" story with various characters and style.

Long time ago, God hosted a running race to invent a way of calculating date and year. The twelve animals that win the race will be the twelve animals symbolizing the Twelve Branches used to designate years.

The kitten and mouse were good friends. They both wanted to win the race, but the mouse’s legs are too short, and the kitten was afraid of water. So they asked Grandpa Bull to help them cross the river. When the bull arrived in the middle of the water, the mouse pushed the kitten into water. When approaching the end, the mouse jumped out of the bull’s back, rush to the end and win the champion before all the other animals arrived. God successfully picked the twelve animals. When the kitten finally made it to the end, it was too late. The kitten was very upset for not being able to make it to the top 12. That is why when it sees a mouse, it jumps right at the mouse and bites it. And the mouse then gets so scared of kitten and hides in the cave.

 The Team

Chen-Chieh, Sun, the chairman of Puppet Beings Theatre , has been devoting himself to the theater business for more than twenty years. Due to the passion of puppet arts, Chen-Chieh, Sun, established Puppet Beings Theatre  in 2000 to promote puppet arts spirit by performing, educating and interacting with other international groups. While searching the new form of puppet arts and refining puppet arts performance, theatre company also attempts combining the contemporary and the traditional puppet arts into a new art and giving a new meaning of the performance. Furthermore theatre conducts various kinds of seminars to educate the professional puppet arts performers and has internationally well-known performers visiting and exchanging the experiences and skills to improve local puppet arts level. The objectives of Puppet Beings Theatre ：

1.Original Performance. Insisting the original and creative productions and cultivating the outstanding performers. Advancing the level of Children Theater by inheriting experiences and skills and creating the variety of performance.

2.Training and educational seminars: Providing more educational materials and nourishing more professionals to bring more new blood and uplift the quality of the art education.

3.International Interaction Aggressively involving international puppet arts performance business and keeping the world-wide connection. By performing overseas, promoting the visibility of Taiwan’s puppet arts business. Meanwhile introducing international outstanding groups performing in Taiwan to share and learn the experiences and skills.
