Introduction

SPIDERINA is the first collaboration work between Dance Forum Taipei and the One & Its Double Theater. Instead of using puppets on stage, the director and choreographer developed the characters and designs of the roles through the elements of puppet. The spirits of ballet, modern, jazz, street dance and even Chinese folks dance were all used in the piece. Well-accompany original music, vivid stage and costume designs, clear story line and well-structured plots all made the piece as an outstanding work for audience at all ages.

SPINERINA successfully creates theatric characters with body movements. The great popularity from the audience in the Experimental Theater, Taipei Children Festival and touring in six cities along Taiwan are the best proof for the creativity and innovation of the work.

 The Team

Dance Forum Taipei is the representative of contemporary dance in Taiwan. Through engaging different choreographers, the Company acts as an open forum for these artists to come together to present and to study their ideas first hand. DFT has made more than 500 performances since its inception in 1989, touring throughout the island of Taiwan as well as abroad to Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Malaysia, and major cities in the United States including New York. In addition to its own productions, DFT also presents Crown Arts Festival in spring and Little Asia Theater/Dance Exchange Project in fall every year. The Crown Arts Center Theater owned by the Company is the most creative experimental theater in Taiwan.
